The rate is $89 the first night November 8th and $109 per night for the 9th and 10th. In addition to the room rate there is a 13% state and local tax plus a $1 per night occupancy tax. THE DEADLINE FOR A ROOM RESERVATION AT OUR REDUCED RATE IS OCTOBER 1, 2012. This date is earlier than the date to get the money into Joe. Parking is not included in the room rate.

Agenda
Thursday November 8th
Arrival and check in. Hospitality room will be open for getting together.
Friday November 9th
We have scheduled a Riverboat Cruise (included)to take us down river to the site of the Battle of New Orleans. Capt Drez will provide us a battlefield tour. Dinner that evening is on your own. Enjoy the activity in the French Quarter (only about four blocks from the hotel). We have a hospitality room booked in the hotel for plenty of conversation. There is a convenient coffee shop in the lobby of the hotel. Prior to heading out for the evening plan on getting together in the hospitality room for a brief meeting to discuss future reunions.
Saturday November 10th
Relax this morning . Visit the Cafe du Monde for breakfast and stroll the Historic French Quarter, This afternoon we will visit the World War II Museum (included). The evening brings our annual dinner/Marine Corps Birthday (included). This year it will be held at The Court of Two Sisters. The restaurant is well known for its great atmosphere and food. It is located in the French Quarter. The menu choices for the dinner are:
SHRIMP AND GRITS--Louisiana shrimp and Andouille sausage poached in a Creole Meunière reduction. Served over southern grits. or
CHAR-BROILED TENDERLOIN OF BEEF--The whole tenderloin is lightly charred and cooked to perfection and sliced. Served with marchand de vin and béarnaise sauces and accompanied with new potato mash and haricots verts.
The meal will include:
Creole Seafood Gumbo, COURT OF TWO SISTERS DINNER SALAD-Seasonal greens and red onions in a Creole French dressing,
garnished with tasso, pecans and chopped boiled eggs. COURTYARD BREAD PUDDING WITH WHISKEY SAUCE
Coffee and Tea are included Please indicate on the reservation form your meal choice. Dress will be 'Country Club Casual' For guys that means dress trousers and collared shirts. There will be an available cash bar.
Sunday November 11th
Departure: The hospitality room will be open for goodbyes.
We plan on having a Brunch either at the Hotel or at a French Quarter Restaurant for those who wish to attend. It is not included in the price. Please indicate in the reservation form if you wish to attend. Unfortunately the New Orleans Veterans' Day Parade is scheduled for the morning of November 12th.

Transportation: If you are driving there is a parking garage across the street. (Valet). Parking is not cheap in NO so count on paying at least $18-20/night. If you are flying take the shuttle in to the hotel. There are shuttle desks at the airport. It is less expensive if you buy a round trip ticket. They will schedule your pick up when you buy your ticket. It is very efficient and they will pick you up at the hotel in plenty of time to make your flight.
Transportation around town is very easy. There is ample public transportation to almost every point of interest. You can buy an all day pass for $3. The St. Charles St Car passes directly in front of the Hotel and takes you out to the Garden District. The Canal St Trolleys are only a block away and take you out to NO famous above ground cemeteries.

Things to do:
You can download free walking tour maps on several sites but I recommend Fodors. There is the Aquarium of the Americas and Harrah's Casino within walking distance. There are plenty of tours available if you wish to schedule and pay. There are Bayou tours, riverboat tours, plantation tours, ghost walks, you name it it is there for the asking. You will be overwhelmed by the choices of restaurants. Low Country and Cajun cuisine, fine dining, dives, anything to tickle your taste buds.
